The Tribute to Valor Foundation was founded in 2018 as an all-volunteer organization focused on influencing, impacting, and inspiring students (both those already involved in STEM or who might be encouraged to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (“STEM”) education and possible future careers in STEM).
Our mission, however, is greater than merely illuminating possible future educational and career paths. Our mission is to help these students understand, engage with, and incorporate into their daily lives and future careers, on whatever path they may choose, the core values of the Medal of Honor: Courage, Sacrifice, Patriotism, Citizenship, Integrity, and Commitment. These values, we hope, will help them achieve their life goals and become the best citizens, the best people that they can become.

We believe we can achieve these goals by also providing students the opportunities to meet, engage with, and learn from the resilience and determination of wounded and injured service members. Our students will also come to learn and understand the important role STEM has played in bringing about some of the latest groundbreaking new technologies that have been critical to improving the lives of our wounded and injured veterans, and in turn, often civilian beneficiaries of medical and technological advances that dramatically improve their quality of life and that of their families. By engaging students with these veterans, they will gain a unique perspective on the positive impact STEM can make in the lives of others.
We accomplish our goals by working with school districts around the country, bringing together veterans who have served our country, STEM professionals, and students through assemblies, workshops, presentations, and unique immersive experiences like trips to NASA Space Centers. The Foundation is committed to “paying it forward” by instilling in young people the responsibilities of being Americans, and by illuminating how the Medal of Honor core character values, Courage, Sacrifice, Patriotism, Citizenship, Integrity, and Commitment, can play a very meaningful role in their lives. And in the end, we do so by suggesting to the students that they remember and incorporate these six core values by regularly asking themselves the question “Who Am I?”

“On behalf of Birdville ISD and Haltom HS, I would like to thank the Tribute to Valor Foundation as well as presenters for coming to our campus and sharing their personal testimony of “Who am I” to our students, faculty and staff. The positive impact this foundation and presenters are making on today’s youth in our public schools is powerful. I have been an educator and coach for over 18 years and I am witnessing more and more students who lack the core values needed to be productive citizens in society. The message and interaction that the presenters of Tribute to Valor provide is heartfelt, inspiring and an experience like no other. We are honored and excited to partner with Tribute to Valor in hopes of instilling and engaging the values of the Medal of Honor; Courage, Sacrifice, Patriotism, Citizenship, Integrity and Commitment into our student body.”
“The time our team spent with Sgt. Beikirch was such a blessing. His message to our young men about the value of living a life of service to others was a great reinforcement of our team values. I believe Sgt. Beikirch’s humble spirit will leave a lasting impact on the GHS football program because of his example of living a life of integrity, honor and service.”
“The students were so attentive to the message “Who am I?” and the overall response was second to none.”
“What an awesome experience for the students and myself! So inspiring to hear their stories. I think this is especially helpful for 6th grade middle school students as I see a few starting to go down the wrong path. It is such a huge transition from elementary school to middle school and the students need all the guidance they can get. My son was super impressed and cannot stop talking about it. My students have been talking about courage, bravey, opportunities and integrity. Warms my heart to hear my 6th graders discussing this with their peers and myself!”
“This experience has meant the world to me, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I was excited to take advantage of. I will be forever grateful for the new friends and opportunities that were given to us through The Tribute to Valor Foundation and their sponsors. I know all of us are incredibly thankful for this opportunity and will be forever thankful.”
